Shawn Crawford (Los Angeles, Calif.) won the bronze medal in the men's 200m dash with a time of 19.96 seconds Wednesday evening at the National Stadium. His time was 0.66 behind the gold medalist, Usain Bolt of Jamaica, who won with a world record time of 19:30 seconds, breaking the mark of 19:32 set by Michael Johnson of the United States at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games.
The silver medal went to Churandy Martina of Netherlands Antilles in a time of 19.82. Walter Dix (Tallahassee, Fla.) was fourth with a time of 19.98, while the third American in the final, Wallace Spearmon (Fayetteville, Ark.) was disqualified.
