Correction: Beijing Olympics fake fireworks story

BEIJING (AP) In an Aug. 12 report about the use of digital simulations in televised broadcasts of the Beijing Olympics' opening ceremony, The Associated Press erroneously attributed a comment in a local newspaper to the production company Crystal Digital Technology Co. The company declined comment. It was a member of the special effects team who made the comment. "We did our best to create a rendering that would look like the shot was taken live," Gao Xiaolong told the Beijing Times. "Most people could not tell the difference."
