Krueger, Nightingale Selected USA Water Ski’s November Athletes of the Month

POLK CITY, Fla. - USA Water Ski has selected Freddy Krueger (Winter Garden, Fla.) and Mandy Nightingale (Sapulpa, Okla.) as its Male and Female Athletes of the Month, respectively, for November. The two are now eligible for the United States Olympic Committee's Athletes of the Month honors.
"Congratulations to Freddy Krueger and Mandy Nightingale on their impressive accomplishments during the month of November," said Steve Locke, executive director of USA Water Ski. "Their continued success remains an inspiration to fellow athletes, as well as spectators of this exciting sport."
Krueger won the men's jumping title at the IWSF Water Ski World Cup event, Nov. 7-9, in Putrajaya, Malaysia, and set a pending men's world jumping record of 247 feet (75.2 meters) on Nov. 2 at the McCormick Fall Open at McCormick Lakes in Seffner, Fla. If approved by the International Water Ski Federation's Technical Committee, the mark will surpass Krueger's current world record of 243 feet (74.2 meters) set at McCormick Lakes in October 2006.
Nightingale won the women's tricks title at the IWSF Water Ski World Cup event, Nov. 13-15, in Doha, Qatar, and placed third in women's tricks and sixth in women's slalom at the IWSF Water Ski World Cup event, Nov. 7-9, in Putrajaya, Malaysia.
USA Water Ski was formed in 1939 as a non-profit organization promoting water skiing in the United States. USA Water Ski is affiliated with the International Water Ski Federation (world governing body) and is recognized by the United States Olympic Committee and Pan-American Sports Organization as the national governing body of organized water skiing in the United States.
